RUNNING LIFE

Made for Mini Jam 192. (Also my first ever game jam entry, and my first game published to itch.io.)

You are a living pitcher of water who lives in a dead environment, and you're currently maintaining what is currently the last tree in the world. This tree once lived next to a big lake that supplied it with all its nutrients, yet the inhabitants of the land greedily drained that lake and bottled it up into kegs scattered across the land. At this point, it seems this tree is about to have its final moments, and its only hope to stay alive just a little while longer is you. Go out into the fields and gather as much water as you can. Be wary, though, for you're incredibly fragile as a pitcher of water, and the thirsty wildlife is desperate for just a single drop of water.

Controls / Instructions:

  • Arrow Keys (D-pad and Left Thumbstick): Move.
  • Space (Xbox A Button): Jump.
  • Q (Xbox X): Use next to a water barrel to refill.
  • E (Xbox Y): Pour water.

Go from side to side and gather water from each water barrel, then take the water back to the tree. Dump the water onto the tree to water it. Be careful not to fill up too much, as doing so can hurt the way you navigate and even kill you. Beware of the wildlife that lurks around the forest. Make sure you don't take too long, as the tree will die if left without water for too long. See how long you can last before you or the tree drops dead.

The font used in this project is Micro 5 from Google Fonts.

The simple background music was made using Bosca Ceoil Blue.

The game was made using Godot.
